Wifi, Internet and Cellular Speeds on Koh Tao

Internet speeds on Koh Tao are generally very fast - as of August, 2025 the main service is from a underwater fiber line to Koh Phangan with a backup Microwave relay to Koh Phangan. Speeds get up to 700mbps down, 450ish up. These will vary depending on the service package, router/modem where you are at, how close you are to the Access Point or router etc.  Getting an AIS SIM with a large data pool or unlimited data is a good backup plan for weak areas or if there is a power outage. You can purchase AIS SIMs on the island at: Technomania store on the down road, Cell Store Sairee by Factory Cafe in Sairee Order from Lazada for about 250-400 a month on promotion (depending on promotions etc).   5G cell service is available on Koh Tao. Water Delivery Services on Koh Tao

If you are staying for a few weeks or longer and have your own place, getting bottled water delivered is handy.  There are a few services on Koh Tao for that.  Glass Bottled Water and Soda Water S&S Water - Facebook Page Water 500ml , crate of 24  Soda 400ml , crate of 24  We supply to businesses as well as homes . 20 liter bottles for coolers, pouring etc Green Fresh - Google Maps 20l delivery Some reports of refilling bottles on site too (6l etc) Ice Shop Sairee - Google Maps Water and Ice refills and delivery (also beer, soft drinks etc?) Visa Extensions and Immigration on Koh Tao for Digital Nomads

 Koh Tao now has an immigration office, so doing your 30-day visa extensions on the island is very easy.  Koh Tao Immigration office location :   Google Maps What you need (as of Apr 2023): Copy of Passport Photo Page Copy of your entry stamp you got at immigration with your entry/exit date A passport sized photo Copy of your TM30 - which you can get from the place you are staying 1900 bhat (best to take exact bills, no coins)      At the immigration office you will fill out 2 forms, they have examples there to help you fill things in. Where to get photocopies and photos:    - June 04 Shop does photocopies and photos.  They can also print out your TM30 (you can email a copy to them).     Google Maps    - Immigration can sometimes do photos and copies, but it is more expensive and may depend on staff levels, so best to just do it before you go.
